Skanska Course Big Success
Construction giant Skanska have re-affirmed their environmental commitment by hosting an environmental awareness course for their supply chain. The course is designed for staff whose activities could have a significant impact on the environment and supervisors or managers who are being introduced to environmental issues for the first time. The aim of the training is to enable delegates to take ownership of their "day to day" environmental responsibilities.
Eleven delegates from nine suppliers attended the course that was delivered by Groundwork and held at Skanska's Walsall Hospital site.
"Demonstrating good environmental performance is very import to Skanska and we're very keen to support our suppliers to achieve the same high standards. We choose to work with Groundwork as their training and support is excellent and really helps our suppliers to understand the business benefits of environmental issues." Steve Davis, Project Environmental Manager, Skanska.
